Admission to the Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering requires you to have a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours or an equivalent qualification with a major in the intended postgraduate subject.

For the Energy Management and Renewable Energy Systems subjects most courses are web-based with online content only. Reliable broadband internet connection is required. Some courses are taught under a joint teaching arrangement by staff at the Research Institute of Sustainable Energy at Murdoch University via their distance learning system to Massey University students.
You will follow a flexible course of study, which shall consist of courses totalling at least 120 credits of courses at 700-level or above from Schedules A and B including attending field trips, studios, workshops, tutorials, and laboratories as required.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering may be completed with or without an endorsement.
You may complete an endorsement by completing at least 45 credits in an endorsement from Schedule A for the Qualification.
Your 120 credit postgraduate diploma will carry the award of Distinction, if completed at a superior standard (equivalent to First Class Honours), or Merit (equivalent to Second Class Honours, Division One) if completed within one year of first enrolling in full-time study or within three years of first enrolling in part-time study.
All requirements must be completed within four years of first enrolling in the Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering.

The endorsements available are: Electronics and Computer Engineering; Energy Management; Engineering and Innovation Management (closed to new enrolments from 2018 pending qualification review); Life Cycle Management; Mechatronics; Packaging Technology; Renewable Energy Systems.
