Entry requirements

To gain entry into the Graduate Diploma in Arts you must have been awarded a university degree.

Graduate Diploma in Arts structure

To qualify for the Graduate Diploma in Arts:

  • You must pass courses at 200-level and 300-level to a total of 120 credits.
  • At least 75 credits (5 courses) of the 120 credits must be at 300-level.
  • All of the 120 credits must be taken from the subject courses list for the Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • The Diploma is normally completed with an endorsement in a subject area (see Majors and endorsements below).
    • You must pass at least 90 credits (six courses) from courses listed for a major subject in the Bachelor of Arts
    • At least 60 credits (four courses) must be at 300-level
  • To complete the Diploma without an endorsement:
    • You require prior approval from the PVC of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences or his/her nominee
    • The 120 credits must be made up of a coherent set of courses
    • At least 75 credits (five courses) must be at 300-level

These regulations should be read in conjunction with all other Statutes and Regulations of the University including the General Regulations for Undergraduate Degrees, Undergraduate Diplomas, Undergraduate Certificates, Graduate Diplomas and Graduate Certificates

Majors or endorsements

You select your endorsement subject from the list of majors in the Bachelor of Arts degree (see list below). You must pass at least 90 credits (six courses) in a single subject with at least 60 credits (four courses) at 300-level.
