Eligibility
Applicants must:
•be in the 3rd year Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at Massey University
•be from a family that resides in the West Coast region
•have a preference for working in a rural practice after graduation

Selection criteria
The selection will be based on:
•a statement why the applicant wishes to pursue a career in a rural practice
•CV
•academic merit
•two referee reports

Selection panel
The grant is awarded by the University Scholarships Committee on the recommendation of the executive of Westland Veterinary Service Inc.

Conditions of the grant
The grant may be held concurrently with any other scholarships or awards, provided Westland Veterinary Service Inc. Executive Committee does not consider this to constitute a conflict of interest.
The Committee may decline to award any grants in any year if there are no applicants of sufficient merit to warrant an award.
