One scholarship will be valued at $2,500 with $500 towards associated expenses when seeing practice and a further $2000 once they have seen practice with us.
Further scholarships at a minimum of $500 each will be awarded to assist with any costs incurred during the seeing practice.
The scholarship is tenable for one year.

Typically one scholarship will be awarded per year
Applicants must be:
•enrolled full time in the 4th year of a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at Massey University
The selection will be based on:
•at least two referees reports with name and contact details
Preference will be given to those who are not necessarily top academic students but who are interested in mixed clinical practice with an emphasis on large animal and/or production animal medicine.
Preference will also be given to students from the general practice area in Otamatea or at least from Northland, (please note this is not an essential requirement).
The scholarship is awarded by the University Scholarships Committee on the recommendation of the Otamatea Veterinary Club.
Conditions of the scholarship
An on-campus interview will be held within the fortnight following scholarship closure date
As part of receiving the scholarship successful applicants will be required to ‘see practice’ at the nominated veterinary clinic for at least one week during their final year.
